

MUSCAT: The value of real estate transactions in the Sultanate of Oman rose 5.4 per cent year-on-year to RO 1.43 billion in the first half of 2026, driven by stronger property sales, although the number of new property titles issued declined.
Data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed the value of sales contracts increased 12.2 per cent to RO 688.00 million by the end of June, while the number of transactions rose 6.9 per cent to 34,017 from 31,831 a year earlier.
The value of mortgage contracts edged down 0.3 per cent to RO 740.20 million, although the number of mortgage transactions jumped 25.7 per cent to 13,383 contracts from 10,647.
Swap transactions also strengthened, with their value rising 20.3 per cent to RO 5.80 million. However, the number of swap contracts fell 39.3 per cent to 362.
Meanwhile, the number of property titles issued declined 8.0 per cent to 101,700, while properties issued to citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries fell 22.4 per cent to 541, according to NCSI data.
